Organisation offers free activity days for families facing terminal illness

Families with children experiencing the challenges of a parent or carer having a terminal illness are invited to take part in a series of free activity days and workshops, designed to provide support, connection, and meaningful memories.

Organised by Gunners Kids CIC, these events offer unique opportunities for families to spend quality time together while accessing resources and guidance for the journey ahead.

Families in Bodmin will be able to take advantage of the forest school and equine-based activities being held at The Hugs Foundation on Tuesday, 18th February. Enjoy a day of nature-inspired activities and connect with animals in a serene environment, fostering comfort and creating treasured memories together.

These events are designed to provide families with an opportunity to bond, learn, and find moments of joy amid challenging circumstances. By combining activities for children and resources for adults, Gunners Kids CIC aims to support families in a holistic way.

Gunners Kids CIC also offers support boxes specially designed for children. Families can register to receive a box by completing the form available here: https://forms.gle/ZPYEdJALjciSfgPW6. The registration link can also be found on the organisation's Facebook page.

Set up in memory of Chris Gunner who passed away in April this year after a three year battle with Bowel Cancer, the organisation aims to enable families to create lasting memories with their loved ones by offering activities, workshops, information, and peer support in a safe, understanding, and welcoming environment.
