Jozef’s Dream makes first donation to help a local school
The first donation kicks off a community-interest company’s mission to improve the lives of children with complex needs in Cornwall.
Mawnan CE VA Primary School, near Falmouth, was recently presented with a grant by Jozef’s Dream CIC to fund the purchase of sensory equipment.
Jozef’s Dream CIC was established to support families and children living with complex needs while aiming to create sensory spaces in schools. Jozef’s mum, Heidi Stasiack, wanted to start a movement to include and value all children in communities and ensure all medically complex children can live a fulfilling life without stigma or judgement.
Heidi Stasiack said:
“We are pleased to be in the position to make our first donation as we work towards bringing our vision for Jozef’s Dream to life. We believe that every individual has a valuable purpose in life, and we are grateful to our committee members and supporters who have helped us fundraise and help us make the lives of children with complex needs and their families better.”
Jozef was born on 6th November 2010 with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. Sadly, his twin brother Jacob passed away at just three-and-a-half months old.
Heidi added:
“This is the first of what will be many grants to help create sensory environments within more Cornish schools. Providing more inclusive settings where special pupils have a better chance of realising their potential.”
The organisation also holds a support group for medically complex children and their families on the second Tuesday of the month, 12 pm - 12.30 pm, at The Hub in Carnon Downs.
