LOSTFEST 2025: A much loved community event

LostFest is a well-loved Lostwithiel tradition, which marks the start of the summer festival season.

It is a free music festival with something for everyone: incredible local artists - shanty choirs, buskers, folk, blues and even Morris dancers, amazing local food and drink and children’s fun. The LostFest team proactively support young local artists and always showcase new performers, as well as ‘old favourites’. This year they will welcome Theifso (@theifsosband), an amazing young band from the St Austell area.

The festival is a celebration of the beautiful town and people of Lostwithiel, and gives back to the community through donations to local groups. Last year, LostFest supported eight initiatives, including children’s art packs for Lost in Art, compost for Lostwithiel’s plant swap, an IT system for the community minibus and a writer for a poetry workshop.

The Cabarets, who are headlining LostFest

This year’s headline performer, The Cabarats, are described as ‘The Sounds of Tarantino meets Tiger Lilies at a Gypsy Wedding...’ (Chris Tofu (Continental Drifts)). No genre is safe from this band: dub-infused rhythms collide with exotic melodies, knees-up traditional music and infectious vocal hooks form an alluring and energetic sound, based on an eclectic and expansive range of instruments.

Humm also play the Main Stage. They are a South West contemporary folk duo with stories to tell, minds to change and worlds to re-imagine. Rooted in traditional music, Humm have created a new, eclectic sound, with influences ranging from John Martyn and Joni Mitchell to Radiohead and XTC, so “brace yourself to traverse a musical odyssey that surpasses conventional boundaries” (Fame Magazine).

LostFest is on Sunday 18th May, starting at 11am.
