Bodmin Royal British Legion raises significant funds during 2024 Poppy Appeal

The Bodmin branch of the Royal British Legion has raised a whopping £17,818.93 during this year’s Poppy Appeal.

The annual appeal, which sees the Royal British Legion selling poppies in honour of Remembrance all over the UK, saw Bodmin Poppy Appeal organisers Eddie and Helen Wiles get truly stuck into the fundraising, and numerous volunteers offering time to sell poppies around the town. People in Bodmin gave generously towards the cause, and helped to raise an incredible sum.

Bodmin RBL chairman, Derek Coad, said: “This year the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal raised an incredible £17,818.93. I would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the Bodmin Poppy Appeal organisers Eddie and Helen Wiles for such a successful appeal. Their work behind the scenes is so much appreciated. Thanks also to everyone who gave up their time to either help distribute or sell Poppies at various locations around Bodmin.

“I would also like to give a special mention to all of the youth organisations and schools who raised a great deal of money. Finally, huge thanks to all who donated to this very worthy cause.”

Well done, Bodmin!
