New book shop and coffee shop for Bodmin

Attention all bookworms - a brand new book shop and cafe is set to open in Bodmin later this month.

Cornwall Mind announced their latest shop will be The Reading Room in Bodmin, the charity's first book shop and coffee shop rolled into one.

The shop will open on Friday, 28th March with a special celebration starting at 10am. Dr Sarah Hughes, CEO of National Mind, will be in attendance to officially open the shop.

The charity says the Reading Room will be 'more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee and a good book', with the focus around bringing the community together to talk about mental health being one of the driving forces behind the new space.

Paul Reeve, CEO of Cornwall Mind, said: "Cornwall Mind are really excited to announce the launch of the Reading Room. A book shop and coffee shop in Bodmin that will serve top quality local coffee along with cakes and a massive selection of pre-loved books. Reading real books is on the rise since the pandemic and as we know, it is so good for our wellbeing, and we think this is a great resource to have in the town.
"There will be discounts for Blue Light Card holders and the books will all be affordable. More than this, though, the Reading Room is a place to get information, advice and guidance if you are worried about your own or someone else's mental health."

Profits made at the Reading Room will be poured back into Cornwall Mind's work to support people's mental health here in Cornwall.

You will be able to find the Reading Room on Hamley Court, Dennison Road, when it opens to the public on 28th March.
