Santa Bus raises funds for bereaved children's charity
A Cornish child bereavement charity has benefited from funds raised by the annual Santa Bus initiative run by public service bus operator Go Cornwall Bus.

For the fifth consecutive year the business company’s Santa Bus, operated entirely by volunteers, transporting Santa on an open top bus which travelled through the streets of Cornwall, bringing festive joy to local communities.

Santa Bus has become a much-loved event that so many look forward to with 2024 instalment running from the end of November until 21 December. Donations were collected from families who enjoyed the spectacle and topped up by Go Cornwall Bus’s own charitable fund.
A total of £2.016.81 was raised for Penhaligon’s Friends, the Cornwall’s child bereavement charity that provides essential support to bereaved children and their families, helping them through some of the toughest times of their lives.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who supported the Santa Bus and donated to these two fantastic causes,” said Jess Bolt, Marketing Manager for Go Cornwall Bus.
“Thanks to the incredible generosity of the local communities and the dedication of our amazing volunteers, we’ve been able to make a real difference for children and families who need support.”
Julie Parker, CEO of Penhaligon’s Friends said:
“We are so grateful to have been included in this year’s Santa Bus, and to all the volunteers who made this possible. Events like this really help to raise our profile, enabling more of our community to be aware of our support. The money raised will enable us to fund books and resources to support the bereaved children and young people we support over the next year. A huge thank you to everyone involved!”
